The Secretary General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council,Mohammed Ben Ali Koman, affirmed on Sunday in Rabat that Morocco’s pioneering initiative establishing Open Days for the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) constitutes a “source of inspiration” and a model to follow for establishing a modern vision of security action.

Speaking at the 7th edition of these open days,Koman explained that this vision is manifested through the strengthening of human rights, the improvement of the population’s living conditions, and the adoption of community policing methods.

He also expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude to King Mohammed VI for his fruitful efforts in favor of just Arab causes and for the consolidation of international peace and security.

The Arab official further expressed his profound thanks and sincere gratitude for the constant attention the King pays to joint Arab security action, and for the solicitude with which the Monarch surrounds the Arab Interior Ministers Council.

Koman highlighted that the opening last year of the Higher Institute of Security Sciences in Ifrane, along with the inauguration of the new DGSN headquarters in Rabat, two structures that combine authentic Moroccan architecture with the latest scientific innovations, embody Morocco’s unwavering commitment to the harmony between tradition, modernity, and technical progress.

He also recalled the progress made by the DGSN in strengthening the security environment necessary for human and economic development, adding that since the last meeting, the Moroccan police have garnered numerous successes. This has earned them increased recognition and respect at the regional and international levels, and allowed them to gain the trust of their counterparts around the world.

The seventh edition of the DGSN Open Days, which will continue until May 22,reflects the Directorate’s constant commitment to modernizing and improving its services and the quality of its performance.

The DGSN’s Journées Portes Ouvertes coincides this year with the celebrating of the 70th anniversary of the National Police, which commemorates a long institutional legacy and reaffirms a modern,citizen-focused security approach.

Established on May 16,1956,shortly after Morocco’s independence,DGSN has evolved into one of the country’s central security institutions, responsible for maintaining public order, protecting citizens and property, and supporting national stability and has continued to adapt to evolving security challenges through digital transformation and expanded public engagement.

The Open Days previous editions took place in Casablanca,Marrakech,Tangier,Fez,Agadir, and El Jadida, and have become an unmissable annual event for citizens wishing to interact directly with police officers and learn about the professions and work of the National Security services.
