"During recruitment, we often encounter candidates with impressive creativity but no grasp of technical implementation, or who can draw renderings but fail to meet market needs. The industry is in dire need of compound talents who 'understand design, master craftsmanship, and excel in business,'" says Chen Min, HR Director of leading Chinese fashion brand Langzhi Fashion. This sentiment highlights the core pain point of talent mismatch in the fashion design industry.

Developed by prominent industry expert Luo Liurong, the Industry Specifications for Practical Teaching of Fashion and Image Design addresses this gap through a "three-stage progression + university-enterprise collaboration" training model. To date, it has cultivated over 1,000 professional talents for the industry, boasting an overall employment rate of 93.5%. Among graduates, 71% have secured positions at renowned brands such as Langzhi Fashion and Peacebird, or large-scale fashion design institutions, effectively filling the industry's talent shortage.

Three-Stage Progressive Training: Adapting to Full-Cycle Growth Needs

Breaking the traditional practical training model that prioritizes theory over hands-on skills, the system constructs a comprehensive growth pathway of "foundation-intermediate-advanced," with each stage forming a closed loop of "objectives-content-practice-assessment":

Foundation Stage: 120 class hours of theory + 180 class hours of practical training, focusing on design fundamentals, fabric knowledge, and industry standards. Trainees must proficiently use hand-drawing and computer-aided design tools, and independently complete fashion renderings and style drawings.

Intermediate Stage: 400 total class hours, 75% of which are practical training, including 150 class hours of real enterprise project practice. Complemented by courses on color matching and basic craftsmanship, it fosters dual capabilities in "design + practical operation."

Advanced Stage: 500 total class hours, 80% of which are practical training, with 80% dedicated to full-process project practice. Covering sample production, commercial adaptation, and team collaboration, it prepares trainees for senior designer and design management roles.

Deep University-Enterprise Binding: Aligning Training with Industry Frontlines

A core advantage of the system lies in its "practice-oriented" approach. It has established training bases with 8 well-known fashion brands and garment manufacturers, including Langzhi Fashion, Yunchang Ji, Zhimeng Workshop, and Xingrui Apparel. This forms a collaborative model where "enterprises propose needs, the system designs courses, and trainees practice on real projects."

Cooperating enterprises dispatch technical backbones to participate in curriculum development and open up their authentic design projects for trainees to refine their skills. "The 45 trainees we recruited through this system can independently take on design tasks within an average of 1.5 months after onboarding, increasing position adaptation efficiency by 60%," notes a representative from Langzhi Fashion's design department. "Trainees save enterprises significant pre-job training costs and can quickly align with brand design requirements."

Remarkable Talent Outcomes: Validated by Data and Reputation

Data shows the system has been implemented in over 50 universities nationwide, completing 28 specialized training sessions. Trainees' average starting salary is 18.2% higher than that of other new industry entrants, with an employer satisfaction rate of 94.1%.

Li Wen, now with Langzhi Fashion's design department, led a casual wear collection that achieved over 30 million yuan in sales in its first quarter after launch, just six months after joining the company. Zhang Rui, a designer at a Guofeng (Chinese-style) brand, leveraged craftsmanship experience gained during training to lead a traditional pattern collection with a repeat purchase rate of 42%.

"After cooperating with the system, our recruitment efficiency has increased by 75%, and the probation elimination rate has dropped from 35% to 10%," shares an HR representative from Zhimeng Workshop. "Trainees excel in comprehensive 'design + craftsmanship + business' capabilities, enabling them to quickly adapt to production and market demands."

Standardization Ensures Training Quality

The system defines comprehensive process control standards:

Practical training instructors must have at least 5 years of industry experience plus university teaching qualifications, and participate in 80 class hours of new technology training annually.

Training institutions must be equipped with professional practical workshops and digital equipment, organize no fewer than 3 industry exhibitions and 5 expert lectures each year, and require trainees to complete at least 3 real commercial projects.

Hierarchical quantitative assessments combining "process evaluation + outcome evaluation" are adopted; those who fail must undergo supplementary training and make-up exams to ensure graduates meet on-the-job standards.

Luo Liurong states that future plans include updating curriculum content to integrate industry new technologies such as intelligent sewing and digital design. Within three years, she aims to expand cooperative enterprises to over 20 and train 200 talents annually, building a virtuous cycle of "talent cultivation-enterprise placement-industry upgrading" and continuously injecting high-quality compound talents into the fashion design industry.
