A mother has been busted after allegedly leaving her two young children in a hot car and going inside her home to sleep, leaving them to die.

Tiona Lasaisha Islar,28,told deputies that she last saw her three-year-old daughter and her six-year-old son at 10am in her Texas home when she was going to take a nap, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

Islar claimed that she did not see them again until she woke up and began searching for them on Saturday. The mum said she found them inside her car.

Deputies responded to the home on Chancery Gate and Appleton Way in San Antonio around 3pm after receiving reports of hot car deaths involving kids.

One of the deputies performed CPR and life-saving measures on both of the siblings while emergency responders were en route. Paramedics pronounced both of them dead at the scene.

Despite Islar’s statement that she last saw her children inside her house,Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said there were ‘some inconsistencies’ in her story.

‘Something is not adding up about this case,’ he said.

The two deceased children were ‘at some point brought into the home’ before deputies arrived,Salazar added.

‘She is being mostly cooperative with us at this point so what we’re hoping for is that,in talking to her,it may be able to shed some more light on the situation,’ he said.

Islar was arrested that same day and faces two charges of injury to a child causing serious bodily injury or death.

The girl has been identified as Miyani Islar and her brother, who was autistic,as Sevani Stevenson.

Authorities said there appear to have been some calls made to Child Protection Services about the siblings’ welfare in the past.

Neighbours or anyone with information on the case are urged to contact the sheriff’s office.

The siblings died more than two months after a toddler boy died in a hot car after his mum allegedly left him and his two-year-old brother in a hot car while she got lip filler at a California spa. The older brother survived.
