Achraf Hakimi,captain of Morocco’s national football team and Paris Saint-Germain full-back,continues to shine on the global stage despite his injury,after he was named among the 30 contenders for Globe Soccer’s prestigious Best Player of the Year 2025 award.
Hakimi joins an elite lineup featuring international stars such as Ousmane Dembélé,Kylian Mbappé,Lamine Yamal,and Mohamed Salah.
In addition to this global recognition,Hakimi is also in the running for the African Player of the Year title,awarded by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The winner will be announced this Nov 19 during the CAF Awards ceremony in Rabat,attended by some of the biggest names in African football.
The 16th edition of the Globe Soccer Awards will take place on December 28,2025,in Dubai,bringing together all nominees and prominent figures from the world of football.
Hakimi also won the 2025 Golden Lion Award,following a vote organized by Moroccan newspaper ‘Al Mountakhab,’ with the participation of 57 media outlets.
This is the second consecutive win for the Atlas Lions right-back.
