The performances showcased by Morocco’s national teams in various categories are the result of exceptional work carried out in the Kingdom,FIFA President Gianni Infantino said on Saturday.
Morocco’s U20 World Cup title in Chile is a feat that “shows that the success of the last World Cup (Qatar 2022) by the Moroccan team (seniors) through its qualification for the semi-finals was not a fluke but the result of exceptional work done here, both at the men’s and women’s levels,” Infantino said in a statement published on the YouTube page of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).
“First of all, allow me to congratulate Morocco on its magnificent Under-20 World Cup title in Chile a few days ago. It is a well-deserved title,a great final against Argentina and a world championship title that truly shows the passion and progress being made in this beautiful country that is Morocco,” said the FIFA President upon his arrival in Rabat to attend the U-17 Women’s World Cup final.
“This is why it is a great pleasure for me to be back here in Rabat. We feel at home here,we feel good,it breathes and lives football,” Infantino pointed out.
Referring to the Women’s U17 World Cup,he said that this event “once again demonstrates Morocco’s qualities as a host country.”
“A Women’s World Cup is a major competition, with 24 teams from around the world (…) This is the first Women’s World Cup to be held in Africa, here in Morocco, and it is the first of five in a row that will be held here,” he noted, expressing his gratitude to King Mohammed VI,“who is driving this football movement in this beautiful country.”
