The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) and Canadian airline Air Transat have announced the launch of a historic direct flight connecting Montreal and Agadir, set to begin operations on June 12,2026.

This weekly service will be the first direct air link between North America and tourist hub Agadir, marking a significant milestone in Morocco’s international tourism strategy.

The new route, operated every Friday using an Airbus A321LR,is part of ONMT’s broader initiative to diversify tourism markets and reduce seasonal fluctuations.

The aircraft, known for its fuel efficiency and reduced environmental impact, will offer Canadian travelers direct access to the Souss-Massa region, positioning Agadir as a strategic gateway to Morocco’s Atlantic coast.

The launch of the Montreal–Agadir route builds on the success of the Montreal–Marrakech connection introduced in 2024,and complements other recent transatlantic links such as United Airlines’ New York–Marrakech and Delta’s Atlanta–Marrakech services.

Together, these developments underscore Morocco’s growing role as a hub for leisure travel between North America,Europe, and Africa.
