Moroccan international and PSG defender Achraf Hakimi remains “undoubtedly the best right-back in the world,” Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique said.
“He is very consistent, and that’s why we didn’t sign another right-back- he plays almost every game,” the Spanish coach said during a press conference, responding to a question about Hakimi’s potential to win the African Ballon d’Or.
According to Enrique,“Nothing has changed regarding his status; he is one of the locker room leaders. The players chose him as PSG’s vice-captain.”
“He has great offensive and defensive qualities. He plays almost every match, always giving 100%,” the coach added, stressing that he is “very happy to have him in the team.”
Achraf Hakimi is listed among the favorites for the African Player of the Year award, according to the nominees in the men’s categories of the CAF Awards 2025,which recognize the continent’s best players, coaches, clubs, and national teams.
Trained at Real Madrid, the Moroccan player enjoyed an exceptional season with PSG,highlighted by a Ligue 1 title and a Champions League victory.
