Hundreds of thousands of Brits were left without internet services today,as Vodafone,BT,and other companies experienced outages.

Reports of outages began increasing around 2.30pm today, and were also seen at Sky and other internet providers.

It’s unclear what’s prompted the widespread outages, but users experienced issues with broadband at home.

Voxi,EE,O2 and others also reported issues. Virgin Media told Metro that its services have been operating as normal today

A Vodafone spokesperson said: ‘This afternoon, for a short time, the Vodafone network had an issue affecting broadband,4G and 5G services.

‘2G voice calls and SMS messaging were unaffected and the network is now recovering. We apologise for any inconvenience this caused our customers.’

If you have delayed repairs after this loss of service for more than two full working days,a reward of £9.98 for each calendar day that the service is not repaired will be given.

One Vodafone customer wrote on X: ‘Landline internet is down, their websites are down, and phone lines are giving the number not available signal.’

The issues appear to be across the UK,but hotspots include London,Manchester and Edinburgh.

Metro has contacted Vodafone,EE and Voxi for more information.

A BT spokesperson said: ‘There are no network issues across BT,EE and Plusnet.’

Sabrina Hoque, telecoms expert at Uswitch.com,told Metro: ‘Outages have been reported across multiple networks across broadband and mobile services.

‘Outages are a really frustrating experience for customers, especially when it’s not clear how long it could last.’
