The Atlantic Initiative, launched by King Mohammed VI,will reshape the economic and geostrategic landscape of Africa. By providing maritime access to Sahel countries,Morocco is offering a regional and continental model for stability and shared prosperity, said the New African Magazine.

The royal Atlantic Sahel project will enhance African economic integration by strengthening cooperation between countries in the South, and between countries of the North and South on the basis of a “win-win” partnership, said the pan-African publication.

Morocco is also working on the Gas Pipeline project with Nigeria (GAA) that will add another strategic layer to Atlantic Initiative expected to gain momentum with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA),added the analysis of the New African Magazine, noting that Morocco’s southern provinces are now emerging as an attractive hub for international investors.

Italian,American,British and French businessmen have all expressed interest to invest in Moroccan Saharan provinces in various sectors such as renewable energies, green hydrogen, tourism, fisheries,IT,sustainable development…

The magazine cited in this regard the 2.5 bln project of the American firm Soluna Technologies seeking to build a 900 MW wind farm in Dahkla to power data centers dedicated to providing computing capacity to the blockchain’s global networks.

American groups Danforth Investors and SEC Newgate as well as the French Development Agency have also announced projects in the Moroccan Sahara set to become “the African California”,said the publication.
