Partly cloudy,cold,and wet conditions are forecast for the Western Cape,while morning fog,with warm to hot conditions,is predicted for most parts of the country,according to the South African Weather Service (SAWS).

Yellow level 2 warning: Waves leading to possible localised damage to coastal infrastructure are expected between Lambert’s Bay and Plettenberg Bay from Friday night,spreading to Alexander Bay by Saturday evening and persisting on Sunday.

In the SAWS’ colour-coded weather warning system,yellow indicates a moderate risk of impact that requires caution and awareness,while orange indicates that higher-risk impact is expected,requiring increased attention and preparation.

Northern Cape: Fine and warm in most areas,turning partly cloudy and cool in the south. Morning fog is expected in places in the west. Coastal winds: Light and variable,but becoming moderate southerly to south-westerly in the afternoon.

Western Cape: Partly cloudy and cold to cool weather with isolated showers and rain in the south-west,clearing by the afternoon. South coast to clear and become fine from the evening. Coastal Winds: Moderate to fresh north-westerly to westerly winds - strong along the south coast until the afternoon and the south-west coast in the evening.

Western half of the Eastern Cape: Morning fog is expected over the interior. Cool and cloudy,with light rain west of Jeffreys Bay,improving to partly cloudy in the afternoon. Coastal winds: Moderate to fresh south-westerly,reaching strong speeds until the evening.

Eastern half of the Eastern Cape: Cloudy along the Wild Coast in the morning,improving to fine and cool during the day. Partly cloudy along the coast in the afternoon,with evening clouds south of the escarpment. Coastal winds: Moderate to fresh south-westerly,turning strong in places.

KwaZulu-Natal: Morning fog is expected across the interior. Fine and cool to warm conditions,becoming partly cloudy in the east from the afternoon. Coastal winds: Light to moderate northerly to north-westerly in the morning,becoming moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly later.
