The African Development Bank has approved 100 million euros in financing for Morocco’s inclusive agriculture program targeting women and youth, aiming to enhance food security and climate resilience while creating sustainable rural entrepreneurship opportunities.

The Support Program for Inclusive Solidarity Agriculture for Women and Youth (PAASIFEJ) will stimulate entrepreneurship in rural areas through adapted financing mechanisms and strengthened technical and financial support systems, according to the Bank’s announcement.

The project facilitates deployment of new agricultural production infrastructure and services, consolidating women’s integration into local value chains while enhancing their skills and productivity. These initiatives will foster female entrepreneurship across agricultural,para-agricultural,processing,and digital sectors, supporting Morocco’s new employment roadmap through rural entrepreneurship promotion.

“Women with ambitions to succeed in agriculture are our priority,” stated Achraf Tarsim,AfDB’s Morocco country office head. “Through this new operation,we’ll support them step by step to build modern, inclusive, and resilient agriculture capable of revealing the full potential of those aspiring to innovate and create value and employment in their territories.”

The program aligns with Morocco’s national priorities, supporting implementation of the “Generation Green” 2020-2030 strategy—the national vision for transforming agriculture into a more inclusive, sustainable, and high-performing sector. It also advances the National Solidarity Agriculture Program and National Youth Entrepreneurship Program.

Over fifty years, the AfDB has partnered with Morocco based on shared integrated development vision, mobilizing nearly 15 billion euros to finance over 150 high-impact projects across strategic sectors including transport, water, energy, agriculture, social protection, governance, and finance. This latest investment reinforces the institution’s commitment to inclusive rural development.
