Morocco’s tourism sector has achieved remarkable growth, welcoming 8.9 million international visitors in the first half of 2025,a 19 percent surge that adds 1.4 million additional tourists compared to the same period last year.
The Ministry of Tourism,Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy announced these record-breaking figures, highlighting the kingdom’s strengthening position as a premier destination. June alone contributed significantly to this momentum, recording 1.7 million arrivals — an 11 percent increase over 2024 and marking the strongest June performance in the country’s tourism history.
This robust start to the summer season signals encouraging prospects for the remainder of 2025,particularly as the peak travel months traditionally drive the bulk of Morocco’s tourism activity. The sustained growth trajectory reflects successful marketing efforts and infrastructure improvements that have enhanced the country’s appeal to international travelers.
Tourism Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor expressed confidence in the sector’s continued expansion, stating,“These results confirm Morocco’s attractiveness and our capacity to draw increasing numbers of tourists.” She outlined two strategic priorities for the second half of the year: strengthening air connectivity and accelerating the development of accommodation and entertainment offerings.
The minister’s focus on infrastructure development addresses growing demand from increasingly sophisticated travelers seeking diverse experiences. Enhanced air links will facilitate access from key source markets, while expanded lodging options and entertainment facilities aim to satisfy varying tourist preferences and extend visitor stays.
Morocco’s tourism rebound demonstrates the sector’s resilience and the country’s effective positioning in competitive global markets. With strategic investments in aviation partnerships and hospitality infrastructure, the kingdom appears well-positioned to sustain this growth trajectory through 2025 and beyond.
