Morocco strongly condemns missile attack on Qatar

Morocco has strongly condemned the heinous missile attack that targeted the sovereignty and airspace of the sisterly State of Qatar.

In a statement issued on Monday,the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Morocco’s full solidarity with Qatar in the face of any act that could endanger its security or the safety of its citizens.

Earlier Monday,Qatar “strongly condemned” the attacks launched by Iran against the U.S. Al-Udeid air base in Doha.

In a statement,the Qatari Foreign Ministry denounced the attack as “a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the State of Qatar,its airspace,international law,and the United Nations Charter.”

“The State of Qatar reserves the right to respond directly in a manner equivalent with the nature and scale of this brazen aggression,in line with international law,” the Ministry warned,adding that Qatar’s air defenses successfully thwarted the attack and intercepted the Iranian missiles.

Following the attack,Qatar,Kuwait and Bahrain announced the temporary closure of their airspace,and subsequently the temporary suspension of air traffic as a precautionary measure in light of recent regional developments.
