A Moroccan MP delegation is taking part in the 2nd Parliamentary Conference on Interfaith Dialogue which opened Thursday in Rome under the theme: “Strengthening trust and embracing hope for our common future”.
The three-day event is organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the Italian Parliament in cooperation with NGO Religions for Peace. The conference brings together speakers & members of parliament as well as representatives of religions, international organizations,faith-based and civil society organizations, and academia.
Through different thematic sessions, participants will build on key recommendations adopted during the First Parliamentary Conference on Interfaith Dialogue held in Marrakesh in 2023 and discuss several topics related to ways of promoting peace and respecting the rule of law and human rights for all.
At the Marrakesh conference, parliamentarians acknowledged that interfaith dialogue is part of the universal human rights and an essential tool for promoting peaceful coexistence, upholding the rule of law and encouraging collective efforts to achieve a better society.
Morocco’s participation in this second Conference reflects its continued commitment to uphold and promote the values of dialogue among cultures and religions, spread tolerance and coexistence, while advancing joint solutions for a lasting peace, human rights, democracy, and good governance.
