Casablanca will host innovators,decision-makers,and urban planners from across Morocco and Africa at the ninth edition of Casablanca Smart City on May 21-22,2025. The event underscores the city’s growing influence in shaping urban development across the region.
This year’s theme,“Smart NexGenCities: Innovate for a Sustainable and Inclusive Metropolis,” reflects a shift toward human-centered urban planning that prioritizes sustainability and inclusivity. The summit has evolved beyond a technology showcase into a collaborative platform where startups, public institutions, local authorities, and citizens collectively reimagine urban spaces.
The 2025 program features conferences and roundtables exploring smart mobility, civic participation, digital governance, and climate-conscious infrastructure. International experts will exchange ideas with local stakeholders on addressing urban challenges through innovative solutions.
A dedicated startup village will highlight breakthrough technologies from young Moroccan and African entrepreneurs, while a 48-hour hackathon will engage 200 young participants in developing practical solutions for energy, transportation, and digital public services challenges.
The event aligns with Morocco’s broader national strategies, including the New Development Model and Digital Morocco 2030 roadmap, which emphasize human potential and digital transformation as key priorities for national development.
By hosting this summit,Casablanca reinforces its commitment to becoming a city that develops with and for its residents while positioning itself as a hub for smart technologies and sustainable urban development.
Last year’s edition focused on “From Smart Citizen to Smart Metropolis,” exploring intelligent urban development aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, laying groundwork for this year’s expanded focus on practical implementation of smart city concepts.
