The Easter weekend isn’t just filled with egg hunts and days off work – there are also closures on the Tube.

The majority of planned works on London’s transport network are carried out over the weekend to avoid the peak rush hour.

And this work to keep the capital moving doesn’t stop even on the Easter bank holiday.

The roads,rail and some UK airports also face travel disruption,including at London Euston station,which will be closed this weekend.

So,if you’re heading out on Good Friday and Easter Monday,you might want to check the TfL journey planner to make sure your line is not affected.

What London Underground lines are closed this Easter?

There are a string of planned closures across the Tube and Overground,including the Piccadilly and Elizabeth lines.

Good Friday,April 18

The Piccadilly line will be shut from Good Friday until Easter Monday between Acton Town and Uxbridge.

The Elizabeth line will not stop at Acton Main Line,Hanwell and West Ealing between Friday and Easter Monday,while a reduced service runs between West Drayton,Maidenhead and Heathrow Terminal 4.

The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) has a spate of closures from Good Friday until Easter Monday between Tower Gateway and Shadwell,Stratford to West India Quay,and Westferry to Canning Town,the latest TfL update shows.

Meanwhile on the Overground,the Windrush line is closed between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction until Easter Monday.

Saturday,April 19

The Lioness Overground line will be closed between London Euston and Kilburn High Road stations.

Sunday,April 20

The Lioness is out of action between Euston and Watford Junction.

The Suffragette line is closed between Barking to Barking Riverside all day,and Gospel Oak to Barking until 10am.

Easter Monday,April 21

The Lioness line has a planned closure again,but this time between Euston to Kilburn High Road only.

The Windrush line doesn’t run between Sydenham and West Croydon after 11.30pm on Easter Monday.
