Morrisons has closed 16 stories with immediate effect as part of a major-shake that will see the end of dozens of cafés and other services.

Hundreds of jobs were put at risk when the supermarket chain announced plans to close 2 café,and 100 other in-store services like 12 florists, four pharmacies and dozens and meat and fish counters.

It’s the latest in a wave of store closures that saw 13,000 shops vanish from high streets last year. It’s even claimed WH Smith as a victim.

Camping and clothing chain Winfields Outdoors has closed all but one of its stores after more than 50 years in business.

Morrisons closed 16 of its Daily branches on Wednesday next week. Another is planned for May 14.

Which Morrisons stores have closed?

Branches across England,Wales and Scotland have been affected by these closures.

This includes Morrisons Daily stores in towns and cities like Birmingham,Bath and Woking.

Morrisons Daily branches are smaller convenience stores with extended hours.

Some of the affected stores contain Post Offices. Morrisons apologised for the short notice of their closures.

The supermarket chain employs 95,000 people alongside its 1600 Morrisons Dailys and 500 supermarkets.

In-store cafes in London,Leeds,Portsmouth and Glasgow are among those affected.
