
Dakhla’s Judicial Police arrested on Tuesday an extremist affiliated with the terrorist organization known as the “Islamic State”,on the basis of information provided by the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST),the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) announced in a statement.
According to preliminary findings of the investigation,the suspect,22,expressed his intention to carry out terrorist plans aimed at undermining public safety and public order,the statement noted.
This security operation led to seizing electronic devices and several bladed weapons of various sizes,as well as paramilitary uniforms.
The suspect has been taken into custody and transferred to the BCIJ to undergo a judicial investigation under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office in charge of terrorism cases,with the aim of uncovering all his extremist activities and determining his potential links to various terrorist organizations.
This arrest forms part of intensive security operations aimed at countering and neutralizing the terrorist threat to the Kingdom’s security,the BCIJ added in the statement.
