From 10 to 12 November 2025,Egypt’s Ministry of Planning,Economic Development and International Cooperation hosted high-level delegations from the European Commission in the New Administrative Capital to advance the economic dimension of the Egypt–EU Strategic Partnership.

The meetings followed the signing of the second phase of the €4 billion Macro-Financial Assistance (MFA) mechanism during the Egypt–EU Summit held in Brussels in October 2025. Discussions focused on structural reforms, policy frameworks, and the disbursement of the first €1 billion tranche under the MFA’s second phase. Minister Rania Al-Mashat underscored the partnership as a cornerstone for strengthening Egypt’s macroeconomic resilience and driving sustainable growth.

In parallel, from 9 to 13 November,Egypt engaged the EU Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations to discuss development priorities for the 2026–2027 cooperation period. These consultations resulted in a €75 million financing agreement under the EU’s Support for Local Implementation of Social and Economic Reforms Programme,as well as the announcement of an additional €110.5 million in funding for 2025. The new funding will back initiatives in sustainable development, economic governance, and vocational training, aligning with Egypt’s National Structural Reform Programme.

The recent talks build on the outcomes of the first Egypt–EU Summit on 22 October in Brussels, which reaffirmed a €7.4 billion support package for Egypt covering 2024–2027. The package includes €5 billion in concessional financing,€1.8 billion in investment guarantees, and €600 million in development grants.

Both sides reiterated their commitment to strengthening cooperation across key sectors—trade, green energy, migration management, and security—reflecting the growing strategic importance of the Egypt–EU partnership in fostering regional stability and sustainable economic transformation.
