Libya’s Prime Minister,Abdul Hamid Dbeibah,on Tuesday,November 11,met with Oman’s Ambassador to Tunisia,Hilal al-Sanani,to discuss ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy and investment. According to the Government’s Hakomitna platform,Ambassador al-Sanani expressed Oman’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with Libya and promoting partnerships between institutions in both countries to advance joint investment initiatives.
Prime Minister Dbeibah reaffirmed his government’s readiness to facilitate measures that would enhance bilateral collaboration and create new avenues for economic integration. The meeting is part of ongoing efforts to revitalise Libya–Oman relations, which have continued despite Oman’s diplomatic mission leaving Libya in 2014 due to security concerns. Since the fall of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011,Libya has remained divided between two rival administrations — the Tripoli-based Government of National Unity led by Dbeibah and the eastern government headed by Osama Hammad.
