Morocco’s national highway authority announced the imminent completion of three major infrastructure projects months ahead of schedule, marking a significant milestone in the country’s transportation modernization efforts.

The National Highways Company of Morocco (ADM) revealed that the Tit Mellil-Berrechid highway and two major interchange upgrades at Ain Harrouda and Sidi Maarouf will be delivered well before the originally planned 2026 deadline. The announcement coincides with celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Green March and Morocco’s 70th Independence Day.

The timing also honors the recent historic UN Security Council Resolution 2797,underscoring ADM’s commitment to providing modern, safe, and efficient highway infrastructure in line with King Mohammed VI’s strategic vision for national development.

The Tit Mellil-Berrechid highway represents Morocco’s first next-generation expressway, spanning 30 kilometers with an initial configuration of three lanes in each direction. This route will significantly reduce congestion in Greater Casablanca while shortening travel times for motorists traveling between the country’s northern and eastern regions toward the south and center.

The Ain Harrouda interchange transformation addresses one of Morocco’s most congested highway sections, connecting Mohammedia West to the Ain Harrouda junction. The upgrade includes construction of 10 engineering structures, expansion to as many as eight lanes per direction, and an elevated intersection at the current Mohammedia industrial zone roundabout.

The Sidi Maarouf interchange project represents a first for Morocco, featuring a pioneering three-level configuration at this critical southern exit point of the economic capital. The transformation connects the Casablanca ring road with the Casablanca-Berrechid highway through eight new structures, additional ramps, and expansion to five lanes on each approach.

ADM emphasized that these strategic projects will significantly enhance national mobility, traffic safety and flow, while improving access to major infrastructure. The early delivery demonstrates the company’s dedication to supporting Morocco’s unprecedented development trajectory and its capacity to host major international events.
