Passengers aboard LIFT’s Flight GE133 disembarked safely at Cape Town International Airport on Friday evening after the craft was forced to make an emergency landing.
The Airbus A320 landed safely after the domestic airline said the aircraft had suffered a failure in one of its hydraulic systems while approaching Cape Town International Airport.

LIFT spokesperson Jessica Gois told News24 that the flight,operated by Global Airways,departed from Johannesburg at 16:00 and landed in Cape Town at about 18:00.

“In accordance with standard operating procedures,the crew declared a precautionary emergency and landed safely with backup systems in place,” she said.

Gois said all passengers and crew disembarked safely and without injury,adding that Global Airways thanked its flight crew,airport authorities and emergency services “for their professionalism and swift response”.
