Morocco’s annual “Marhaba” operation, marking summer sea crossings, recorded over 3.2 million passengers and nearly 739,000 vehicles crossing through national ports between June 10 and September 15,transport minister Abdelssamad Qayouh said.
The figures mark a 7% increase in passenger traffic and 6% in vehicles compared to 2024. Tangier Med remained the main hub, handling 56% of travelers and 63% of vehicles.
Qayouh credited the success to expanded maritime services, improved port coordination, and the implementation of a mandatory pre-booking system, which eased congestion during peak travel days.
The minister called for continued cooperation among stakeholders to prepare for “Marhaba 2026.”
