A large Moroccan delegation is participating in the proceedings of the “Invest in Senegal” forum which kicked off this Tuesday in Dakar.

The delegation, led by Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita at the instruction of King Mohammed VI,includes economic operators representing the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and some of the country’s leading actors in the fields of banking, medical and pharmaceutical industries, energy, and water.

The “Invest in Senegal Forum”,the main annual economic event organized by the Senegalese State, serves as a leading economic platform, enabling meetings between international investors and local project promoters.

During this forum, the Senegalese government presents its best investment opportunities directly to global economic decision-makers,with the aim of attracting capital and accelerating the country’s growth.

Morocco’s high-level participation in this forum underscores the Kingdom’s support for Senegalese development initiatives and reflects the quality of the fraternal and solid cooperative relations uniting the two brotherly countries. It is also in line with the King’s continued interest in the economic development of the continent and his commitment to strengthening mutually beneficial South-South partnerships.

Senegal bets on the Forum to boost foreign capital inflows. In 2024,the country attracted nearly $3 billion in FDI,mainly in the energy and infrastructure sectors, according to official data.

Under the central theme “Connecting Opportunities,Building the Future,” the event aims to showcase a portfolio of strategic projects across three key sectors, namely energy, infrastructure, and the digital economy, including startups in fintech, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
