Morocco & Russia discuss strategic partnership

Moroccan foreign minister Nasser Bourita held on Tuesday a telephone conversation with his Russian peer Sergei Lavrov,focusing on bilateral relationship and political dialogue based on mutual respect and commitment to stability.

The Moroccan-Russian relations are gaining momentum under the leadership of King Mohammed VI and President Vladimir Putin,said the two ministers.

They recalled the importance of the royal visit paid to Moscow in 2016,a visit crowned with the signing of strategic partnership agreement,laying the foundation for closer cooperation across multiple sectors.

Lavrov and Bourita stressed the need to build on the progress achieved since the royal visit and pledged to advance partnership in all areas of common interest.

The ministers also discussed preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Moroccan-Russian Joint Commission and latest developments on the regional & international scene.
