Morocco’s National Tourist Office (ONMT) has picked the London-based Rooster agency to promote the country’s tourist destination in the UK and Ireland. Rooster’s mission includes managing media, collaborating with influencers, engaging travel industry professionals, organizing events, and enhancing Morocco’s Nation Brand.
The British Communications agency has been chosen after successful marketing campaigns from late 2024 to early 2025,leading to a 42% increase of UK and Irish travelers (1.2 million) to Morocco between March 2024 and March 2025.
With its rich cultural heritage, diverse landscapes, warm hospitality, and inherent potential,Morocco offers investors myriad opportunities, making it a major destination for investments in the tourism industry.
The Moroccan tourism industry has shown resilience to global challenges and its ability to adapt and recover quickly. This resilience highlights its stability and attracts investors looking for long-term opportunities.
The ONMT seeks to establish Morocco among the top 10 global tourist destinations, targeting 17.5 million visitors by 2026 and 26 million by 2030,especially with the 2030 FIFA World Cup the country is co-hosting with Spain and Portugal.
To reach these goals,ONMT focuses on its source markets: France,Spain,UK,and the United States. International promotion campaigns have been launched highlighting Morocco’s cultural heritage, diverse landscapes (beaches, mountains, deserts),modern infrastructure, expanding air connectivity, highway networks, and tourist facilities for both luxury and budget travelers, with a focus on sustainable and authentic experiences.
Morocco’s inbound tourism revenues reached $3.7 billion during the first five months of 2025,representing an 8 pc increase compared to the same period of last year.
In 2024,Morocco received 17.4 million international tourists,a 20% increase compared to 2023,making it the most-visited country in Africa. This allowed the sector to nearly double its contribution to GDP,rising from 3.7% in 2020 to 7.3% in 2023
