A prison officer reportedly faces jail for allegedly striking up inappropriate relationships with inmates and smuggling contraband.

Charlotte Winstanley,27,  is accused of bringing a mobile phone into category C prison HMP Lindholme for one prisoner.

She also allegedly conspired to sneak in mobile phone memory cards with 29-year-old Jabhari Blair,who was serving a 12-year sentence for stabbing two men,in 2022.

Winstanely indicated guilty pleas to misconduct in a public office over a three-month period that year,MailOnline reported.

Start your day informed with Metro's News Updates newsletter or get Breaking News alerts the moment it happens.The charge said she ‘misconducted’ herself by ”entering into inappropriate relationships with inmates and conveyed contraband for inmates’.She was also found to have taken a photograph inside another prison,HMP Ranby in Nottinghamshire,in 2023.The 27-year-old,of Stainforth,will appear before Sheffield Crown Court next month for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
