Mystery surrounds the death of an Irish businesswoman after her boyfriend found her unconscious on a yacht in New York.
Martha Nolan-O’Slatarra’s body was discovered on a boat called Ripple in the early hours of Tuesday morning at Montauk Yacht Club,Long Island.
Her boyfriend called 911 before he was seen in distress,shouting ‘that’s my girlfriend’ as he ran to get help from people nearby.
One of them attempted CPR before paramedics arrived and declared her dead.
Police said an autopsy ‘did not show evidence of violence’ and further medical testing would take place.

She was a much-loved member of the Montauk Yacht Club.She had moved to New York from Ireland when she was 26. She previously spoke about wanting to start her own company and brand from the age of 18.She founded East x East,a resort-wear label in the Hamptons in 2023 and had a successful pop-up in the exclusive Gurney’s spa,a 10-minute drive from the yacht club.

She said she was a ‘small-town girl’ (Picture: TikTok)Speaking about her life and hopes for the future,she previously said: ‘I was the small-town girl who needed to get out to achieve her big dreams… I still have all my Carlow friends. They are still my crew.’Martha shared glimpses of her luxury lifestyle,posting TikToks of herself on yachts,private jets and convertible cars.She travelled to New York in 2015 and initially only intended to be there for nine months. She got a job at hedge fund firm Street Diligence where she was offered visa sponsorship after proving successful.She left that firm two years later,working for other companies before starting up her own businesses in 2021,including East x East.After opening the spa pop-up,she posted ‘Goals Achieved’ on TikTok on July 1,just weeks before her death.
