Police have launched a manhunt after a woman was ‘repeatedly sexually assaulted’ on a train to Vauxhall.

The woman was aboard a South Western Railway train when she was assaulted between Barnes Bridge and Vauxhall at around 4.40 pm on May 13.

Her attacker then alighted at the busy Central London station and is yet to be tracked down.

Now,the British Transport Police (BTP) has released a CCTV image in the hopes that someone can identify a person of interest.

The footage shows a white man with a bald head and a dark beard, wearing a black hoodie and a black t-shirt featuring a tiger’s head.

In a statement,BTP said: ‘Officers believe the man in the image may have information which could help their investigation.’

Anyone who recognises the man in the Vauxhall image is urged to contact BTP.

It comes after a woman was sexually assaulted in the street after being followed off a bus in west London.

The Met released CCTV of the suspect after the woman,in her 20s,reported being sexually assaulted in Park Road,Ealing, shortly before midnight on May 21.

She got off the E1 bus, going from Ealing Broadway Station to Greenford Broadway,at Browning Avenue and was followed down Park Road.

Detective Constable Teresa Moore said: ‘Women and girls should be safe to travel on public transport – and walk the streets of London – without being attacked.

‘This incident highlights the opportunistic behaviour of the offender,so it is really important we locate him as soon as possible.’

In July,a 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted at a train station before she was taken on to a train and raped in the toilet.

The sexual assault happened at Woolwich Arsenal railway station on the platform towards Abbey Wood.

Five minutes later, the girl was raped in the Thameslink train carriage toilet, heading towards Abbey Wood from Woolwich Arsenal.

A man left the train at Abbey Wood while the girl continued towards Slade Green and later reported it to the police .
