Morocco welcomes 11.6 million tourists by end of July, up 16% year-on-year

Morocco’s tourism sector continues its upward trajectory,recording 11.6 million tourist arrivals by the end of July 2025,marking a 16% increase compared to the same period in 2024,the tourism ministry said.

Moroccans living abroad accounted for 52% of total arrivals during the first seven months of the year.

The month of July alone saw 2.7 million visitors,reflecting a 6% year-on-year growth. Of these,875,000 were foreign tourists,up 2%,while 1.8 million Moroccan expatriates visited the country,representing a 7% increase compared to July 2024.

This growth aligns with the objectives of the 2023–2026 tourism roadmap,which emphasizes enhancing the visitor experience and responding to evolving tourist expectations.

The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable development and improving Morocco’s appeal as a competitive global destination.

Last year,Morocco had surpassed all expectations,attracting 17.4 million visitors,the highest in Africa.

Looking ahead to 2030,when Morocco will co-host the FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal,the country aims to attract 26 million tourists.

The government continues to support the sector by offering financial incentives to operators,opening new air routes,attracting global hotel brands,and expanding infrastructure.
