Sandton businessman arrested for DJ Sumbody hit

Police have made arrests in connection with the assassination of Oupa John Sefoka,also known as DJ Sumbody.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe,in a statement,confirmed that four people had been arrested,although she did not give the names of the suspects.

It is understood that businessman Katiso “KT” Molefe was arrested at his Sandton home on Monday.

Molefe and alleged hitmen Michael Pule Tau,Musa Kekana and Tlego Floyd Mabusela are before court and awaiting trial for the hit-style killing of Vereeniging engineer Armand Swart in April last year.

At the time of his arrest,Molefe was out on bail.

“On Monday afternoon,the team arrested four men between the ages of 45 and 60 in connection with the murder of popular SA DJ Oupa John Sefoka,popularly known as DJ Sumbody,” said Mathe.

“The arrests were all effected in Gauteng and three of the suspects are believed to be hitmen and one is believed to have ordered the hit on the DJ. The weapon allegedly used in the commission of the crime was seized and has since been linked to other murders,” she added.

Sefoka was killed in Woodmead in November 2022.

Kekana and Mabusela also face charges of attempted murder relating to a failed hit on actress and socialite Tebogo Thobejane,an attack allegedly set in motion by her former lover,tender don Vusimusi “Cat” Matlala.
