Woman killed and nine injured in M4 Swindon crash where 'driver left the scene'

A woman has died after a collision on the M4 motorway which also injured nine others.

The victim,in her 40s,died at the scene of the crash,which happened just before 11.30pm last night between junctions 16 and 17 near Swindon.

Travelling in the same car was a woman in her 70s,who was seriously injured,and five other people who suffered minor injuries.

Three people travelling in a second car were also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Traffic was diverted off the westbound lanes before junction 16 following the crash
