Renault Technology Morocco (RTMA) is establishing a new engineering center at Tétouan Shore, strengthening the French automaker’s technological footprint in Morocco as the kingdom emerges as a critical link in Renault’s global value chain.
The research and development center will spearhead vehicle renewal and development projects for Renault Group while supporting Moroccan manufacturing operations. The initiative aims to position Morocco as an automotive engineering excellence hub, with particular focus on emerging “New Tech” innovations.
RTMA’s operations will span two complementary sites: a headquarters at Tétouan Shore dedicated to advanced technological activities and a center integrated within Renault’s Tanger factory. This dual-site strategy aims to create optimal synergy between engineering and industrial production through operational proximity.
The Tétouan Shore facility will function as a competency hub, concentrating expertise around emerging technologies and fostering a local innovation ecosystem capable of addressing the automotive sector’s transformation challenges. The site will play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge solutions while contributing to Morocco’s growing reputation as a regional automotive powerhouse.
This expansion reinforces Tétouan Shore’s position as a strategic center for digital services, engineering, and technological innovation. The development aligns with Morocco’s broader industrial strategy to move up the automotive value chain from assembly to high-value engineering and design services.
The investment represents Renault’s confidence in Morocco’s skilled workforce and technological capabilities, building on years of successful manufacturing operations in the country. By establishing this engineering presence,Renault aims to leverage local talent while contributing to the kingdom’s ambitions of becoming a comprehensive automotive hub serving both regional and global markets.
