Algerian Disinformation Claims the Death of Moroccan Officers in Israel: No Basis, No Evidence

A document circulated by media outlets close to the Algerian military regime claims that two Moroccan officers were killed and a third injured during Iranian strikes on Israeli military installations, while they were allegedly undergoing training at the Meron base in northern Israel. This assertion,as it stands,is based on no verifiable source or tangible evidence.

The document, which is circulating on social media platforms and certain fringe media outlets,is poorly written and riddled with inconsistencies. No official body—Israeli,Moroccan,or independent—has confirmed the presence of Moroccan officers in the area targeted by Iran.

“The hallmarks of disinformation are easy to spot: lack of sources, vague language, and the manipulation of a real event for political purposes,” notes a geo-strategy analyst.

For several years,Algerian authorities have used disinformation as a diplomatic and military tool, particularly against Morocco, whose strategic cooperation with Israel is a source of irritation for Algiers. The goal: to tarnish the Kingdom’s image, sow confusion, and fuel hostility through entirely fabricated revelations.

The recent attack by the Islamic Republic of Iran on several Israeli sites is a confirmed fact. However, there is no indication that any foreign officers—let alone Moroccan ones—were involved or harmed. Linking this event to an alleged Moroccan presence is therefore a purely fictional construct, designed to shock and divide.

The method is well known: invent an external enemy, accuse Morocco of collusion, exploit emotions tied to the Palestinian and Iranian causes, and then disseminate the narrative through a well-oiled propaganda network.

For observers, this latest piece of disinformation is a clear signal: the information war is more active than ever, and Morocco must respond with vigilance, transparency, and responsiveness.
