French aerospace manufacturer Figeac Aéro has signed a new agreement with Boeing to produce aluminum machined parts for the Boeing 737 MAX.
The components will be manufactured at Casablanca Aéronautique,Figeac Aéro’s Moroccan subsidiary located in the Nouaceur industrial zone near Casablanca.
This agreement is part of Figeac Aéro’s PILOT 28 strategic plan, which focuses on expanding its footprint in North America and strengthening ties with major clients.
The Nouaceur facility, employing around 900 people,is one of the group’s largest and most advanced sites, offering machining, sheet metal work, surface treatment, and assembly services.
Jean-Claude Maillard,CEO of Figeac Aéro,emphasized that the deal reflects the group’s strategy of combining global reach with strong local capabilities. The Casablanca site has been the focus of recent investments, including a major upgrade launched in 2023 in partnership with the Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Safran.
Morocco’s aerospace sector continued its strong growth trajectory in 2024,with total exports surpassing 30 billion dirhams (approximately $3 billion),marking a 15% increase over 2023.
The sector now employs over 25,000 people and benefits from a high local integration rate exceeding 40%
Morocco’s strategic location, competitive labor costs, and government-backed industrial policies have attracted major players including Boeing,Airbus,Safran, and Bombardier.
The government’s Industrial Acceleration Plan and investments in training institutions like the Moroccan Aerospace Institute have further strengthened the sector’s capabilities, positioning Morocco as a leading aerospace hub in Africa and a competitive player globally.
