Morocco and Rwanda have agreed,under an agreement signed Wednesday in Rabat,to enhance military cooperation in training,exercises,logistical support,military health and exchange of expertise in areas of common interest.
The agreement,sealed during the visit paid by Rwanda’s Defense Minister Juvenal Marizamunda to the North African Kingdom,also provides for the creation of a joint military commission to meet alternately in Rabat and Kigali.
During his stay in Morocco,the Rwandan minister was received by Minister Delegate in charge of National Defense Administration Abdeltif Loudyi. They discussed South-South cooperation & regional integration initiatives launched by Morocco for peace,stability,and prosperity in Africa.
The two ministers also stressed the constructive role played by both countries in maintaining stability,security,and peace across the African continent.
On Tuesday,Morocco signed a similar military cooperation agreement with Ethiopia,showing the Kingdom’s growing regional leadership in exporting stability and security throughout Africa.
In his latest statement made during a Senate hearing,General Michael Langley,AFRICOM commander,said Morocco provides training to more than 1200 African partners annually.
The training includes every level of military education from basic training to War College,spans all services,and includes professional medical,intelligence,airborne,and special operations training.
